Zarif’s second and third destinations are wide apart, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and Tashkent in Uzbekistan in Central Asia.
Iran’s IRIB news center report said that Mr. Zarif will have as subject matter to talk with French and Dutch officials bilateral ties and latest developments in the Middle East and no less important Iran’s post-JCPOA times and opportunities.
Iran’s foreign policy machinery had been heavily engaged in lifting crippling barriers on the way of facilitated interaction with international financial system and banking after the implementation of JCPOA which had once been hailed as a panacea for Iran’s economic woes. Zarif will participate in summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) which will be held in Tashkent on June 23-24.
Iran has currently an observer status in the Organization. The Tashkent summit will address Iran’s full accession to SCO. In 2015, India and Pakistan were given membership and will participate in Tashkent summit as member states. The majority members have welcomed a possible Iran full accession.
